FIP Warrior:

Odin

Hello FIP family. I just wanted to share a hopeful story about my Odin kitty.  He came to us in August through a wonderful rescue group Helping Homeless Felines here in Fairfax, VA.  Val rescued him from a shelter in rural Georgia. We believe him to be about two years old. We welcomed him into our home and hearts with great joy and anticipation! Within two weeks he was a very sick kitty. He had become very lethargic, stopped eating, lost weight and had diarrhea. I took him to my vet and after observing him for a few hours and doing BW, I was told she highly suspects dry FIP and that I should give him back to the rescue. She also sent me home with many printouts of articles about a wonder drug called GS 441524 that is curing cats of this death sentence but that it is very expensive and difficult to obtain. I came home and sat in my driveway holding him and cried. My husband came out and I told him Odin is going to die with a horrible disease. Of course Val with the rescue was devastated as well and would take him back. We just loved on him that evening trying to digest this situation and pondered what to do. After my husband went to bed I jumped on FB looking for groups and information on this treatment option. No kidding, the next day I was put into contact with someone near me who had just successfully finished treating their kitty and had a couple extra vials for me to get him started immediately. Val had not heard of this treatment and in dealing with rescue, has seen the horror and devastation of this disease so she decided to make it her mission to help Odin be her first FIP survivor! Through her generosity we are on day 34 of his treatment and he is a totally different kitty! She and we could not believe his dramatic transformation almost within days! He just had his 30 day follow up and BW and my vet is just astonished at his progress! He has blossomed into the sweetest, silliest little boy and we love him so much! I want to share this far and wide to give some hope to other cat lovers out there that this works! I’m hoping and praying that he continues on this path and is cured so we can enjoy and love him for many years to come! (Pictures below show his eyes at the start of treatment until now, back to a bright-eyed, happy boy! ♥️🐈‍⬛♥️)

UPDATE: 02/21/2022 - Odin has completed both treatment and observation and is now officially cured.
