FIP Warrior:

Kiko

Kiko, along with his sister Lulu, was adopted from the Humane Society in November 2020. They were two months old, happy, energetic and healthy. Then in May 2021 we noticed that Kiko was not as active as Lulu. We just assumed it was his personality, until he stopped eating and became very pale. After 3 vet visits and several tests, the conclusion was FIP and the advice was to euthanize him. We were devastated. He was only 8 months old. One vet mentioned that she had heard of a very expensive treatment, but didn't know any more than that. I researched it, spoke to some people locally, and decided that I couldn't just lose him if there was a chance to save him. Giving the treatment was emotionally and physically rough, and then I found a retired vet tech who agreed to come over to our house every day for a month and a half to help out. Kiko responded very quickly to the treatment and he went from a low of 6.3 pounds in May to 11 pounds in November. He is active and happy again. The people I worked with on FIP Warriors 5.0, especially Zelda Fitzgerald, were always encouraging and patient. Treating him was well worth it!
