We adopted Irma at three months old from a shelter about 90 minutes away. Her eye was damaged so she caught our attention scrolling through pet finder. I have an affinity for the special cases. I knew she was meant to be ours. After we got her home and vetted, we had her eye removed to avoid future infections. Around the same time, she began having seizures. We started her on antibiotics and anti-seizure meds, and took her to two neurologists. The conclusion was that the seizures were caused by herpes virus and would be easily managed. One month later she began leaking fluid from her bottom, and then her face swelled and ruptured. This led to an FIP diagnosis. A friend told us about FIP Warriors. She began showing improvement after the first dose and keeps getting stronger every day!!
UPDATE: Irma has completed 84 days of observation and is now an FIP Survivor.
