FIP Warrior:

Hobbs

Hobbs was a cat that my wife ran for a rescue to a Petsmart a few hours away with one of our own fosters to hopefully find their furever homes. Unfortunately while at Petsmart Hobbs and our foster Marcus both got sick and had to be taken out of Petsmart. The original foster family for Hobbs could not take him back so my wife brought home both cats. Marcus got better after a week or so and unfortunately Hobbs got sicker and sicker over the course of about 6 weeks until it was ultimately determined he has Dry FIP w/ Ocular and Neurological issues. Luckily neither his ocular or neurological issues got super bad, but he started 10mg/kg dosage as soon as we could get him started. The rescue that he was part of had a few vials on hand from previous cats that unfortunately didn't succeed, but we were determined to see Hobbs get better. In addition to the few we had provided from the rescue my wife and I so far have purchased an additional 8 bottles, but we are really struggling keeping up. We unfortunately recently suffered a big financial setback when trying to save our german shepherd from cancer issues and unfortunately even after getting ourselves into debt, he only made it a few days... The rescue Hobbs is with has been great at providing vet visits and paying for them, and they gave us the few bottles of treatment they had but they also cannot afford to purchase more treatment. We're hoping to be able to get sponsors for this boy to get rid of FIP! He is around a year old we estimate and he was in pretty rough/sick shape the entire time anyone currently involved with him has known, so to see him finally getting better and even putting on weight and having energy has been great. Thank you for any assistance!
