View All FIP WarriorsTiny Tim (F) was found abandoned at 4 to 5 weeks old by my co-worker. My cat had just given birth to 6 adorable babies 2 weeks prior. I brought Tiny Tim home, hoping mom would accept her. She instantly snatched Tiny Tim up and she was now apart of the family.
Even though she was older Tiny Tim was 3 times smaller than the rest of the litter. She wasn't gaining weight or getting any bigger. Then she caught a cold. The first vet visit brought a round of antibiotics and eye cream. She responded well to the treatment, seemed better. But she still wasn't gaining weight and began to develop a huge belly. The next vet visit was the first mention of FIP. We gave a fecal sample and they took a fluid sample from her abdomen. Both were normal. The vet said to give her more time to see if the medications will work.
After a couple of weeks she started to gain weight and grow. She was healthy and happy, until a few days ago. She started having trouble breathing, is lethargic and just doesn't feel well. This time the vet confirmed FIP. I was crushed. This tiny little thing who fought from the time she was born to live was given another obstacle.
The cost of treatment is going to be around $3000. I don't have the funds for that. I don't ever ask for help but Tiny Tim deserves everything I can possibly try. I'm asking for help to save this little baby that stole my heart from the second I saw her.
