View All FIP WarriorsMy boy Rj was diagnosed with fip November 11 in the er he was 9 months old at this time. This was incredibly hard because we had just lost our six-year-old tabby Richie to a vicious raccoon attack. Within speaking with mutual friends, and within 24 hours, I was added to the FIP Warrior group on Facebook and connected and started treatment ASAP with the help of our admins. Stephanie , Perseus, Zelda they found Barbara who lived about 25 miles from me with an emergency starter kit with vials and syringes that we started on right away. I live in an amazing neighborhood and I made a post, and I had one neighbor come over to help me and come to find out her cat was in her observation of fip.
Our neighbor, Lexie assisted us with help with injections for two days, then my daughter Kate (9th grader future veterinary) proceeded to give RJ his daily injections for the next 19 days.
Because RJ responded to the treatment incredibly well within 24 hours, we were able to switch him to pills on day 20. We continued his treatment and completed it on day, 88. With RJ passing his final bloodwork we now switched over to the observation period .
Today, marks day 18th of his 84 days of observation.
The fip group/ warriors have been a godsend!! If it wasn’t for this group, we would’ve lost RJ at 9 months old.
The saying that it takes a village to raise a child. Well, I’m gonna say it takes a village and the amazing FIP warrior group to heal your fur baby.
I can’t thank you all enough for everything you have done for my family.
I pray that this group gets the praise, and the recognition and the funds needed to continue to help people treat their furbabies.
Thank you from the bottom of all of our hearts,
Thomas, Marie, Kate, Oreo and rj Karnezis
