FIP Warrior:

Freddy

We got Freddy in June of 2023, he was only 4 months old.  When we got him, he was sneezing, had watery eyes and coughing.  We were told it was allergies and to get some anti-virals and anti-bacterial meds.  After a week of bringing him home, we took him to the vet.  From June to November, Freddy went back for the same issues but without any relief.  He was active so there was no serious problem, or so we thought. Freddy began to get lethargic and sleep a lot towards the end of October, so we took him to the vet again and after the blood tests, we were given the most heartbreaking news, FIP.  My sister had put her FIP cat down four years ago because she was told the treatment was very painful for the cats and there was little chance for survival.  My vet gave me the two options, one of which was really not an option (euthanasia). So we opted for the other choice, treatment. The vet turned us on to FIP Warriors and there was no doubt in our minds that we were going to try treatment.  Regardless, we would find the money to give Freddy a chance.  We are currently waiting for our four week blood tests in hopes to get some good news.  I will remain hopeful and still help others in the FIP support group either financially when I can or just by sending a supportive text. I had no idea about this organization or possible treatment and hope that some day, this treatment will be approved and less fur babies will have to perish.
