Mocha is our brave and strong FIP Warrior. Mocha's birthday is Sept 23, 2022. We adopted him on Jan 3, 2023 from a No Kill Cat Shelter in Tucson, AZ. On May 9th, 2023 we received the heart breaking diagnosis of wet FIP. Our Vet told us that without treatment he had only a week left. Mocha weighed 5lbs and was very weak. We were devastated!! Our Vet became Mocha's first guardian angel. She connected us with a FIP Warrior volunteer who got us started on his GS treatment via injection the same day. She was Mocha's second guardian angel. We gave Mocha the injections for 14 days. On the 14th day, he regressed, got extremely weak and it seemed like saving him was hopeless. But, the FIP Warrior Team (Guardian Angels #3) was right there to tell us to increase the injection amount and in 2 days he was much better. He hated the painful shots and we hated giving them to him, so we switched him to pills on day 16. Mocha's 4th Guardian Angel was his pet sitter Vicki, who took our place in June with his treatment plan while we went on a previously arranged trip. Mocha finished his 84 day treatment on July 31, 2023 and is currently in his observation period. He is doing very well. He is playful, eating everything he can get, and is now a 9 lb healthy and happy kitty. It's early in the observation period, but we are so thankful for everyone who has been involved in his treatment. We love him so much. We can't wait for the day that we can say Mocha's cured of FIP!!!
