Dear Peter: Bean has miraculously turned the first corner and it occurred as we have seen before, almost overnight. We knew yesterday that there were very few inflammatory cells in her abdominal fluid, but she still was quite distended. A significant amount of abdominal fluid has been resorbed overnight and has been replaced by ventral subcutaneous edema. She is also feeling much better this morning, but the sneezing continues. Her temperature has risen, but it is still in the high normal range. Hopefully this is a result of the recurrence of her herpes infection and if all goes well, it will run its course in 7-10 days. If you still want to come and see her, that is ok, but I no longer feel that she is in immediate danger and should now show progressive improvement in her complete blood count, weight and activity. We want to keep her until we feel that she is back to a normal kitten, which if all goes well, may be another week. She is certainly challenging us, but we are also learning a lot about treating these very young cats with the worse form of FIP. –Niels
This is her sister Vanilla. I will take more pics of Bean when I see her tomorrow. Thank you for all the good wishes! Please keep them coming as they seem to be helping Bean. #MissBeanFIPWarrior #FIPFIGHTERS
